Adopt-a-Family Ministries
is part of a year-round
ministry to those in need through partnerships with trusted churches
and organizations. Its ministry was begun to accomplish two purposes,
first to help families in need, showing them love of Christ through
serving and through the relationships we develop with the families, and
secondly to provide opportunities for followers of Jesus who desire to
live their faith out through practical and meaningful service to people.
The unique opportunities and blessings
that A-A-F offers are:
-
Personally deliver needed resources
and meet the families served; however, if you are unable to deliver,
we will make sure the delivery is taken care of.
-
Adopt families that we have an
on-going relationship with in the community, beyond the holidays and
assist in their spiritual development and needs.
-
Teaching children, family and
friends how to care for others by serving with them.
We encourage the adoption of the same
family for both Thanksgiving and Christmas in order to build
relationships and consistency. If the family is a single mother, you
may also adopt her for Mother’s Day with a nice basket to encourage her.
As you read how this ministry is coordinated, we have provided a
glossary of terms for you below.
