Bayside  Community  Outreach Reaching Out with God's Love to the lost and disadvantaged in the Sacramento area.

The Davis Project: Status - August 1, 2008
This is an approved Bayside Project!

Thanks to the work of Phil Vanderloo (c:612-1704, vanderloo5@comcast.net )

The Davis Project looks promising.  See the Web page at http://www.davisproject.org/ .  The site is located at:

1425 Nogales Street, Sacramento, Ca 95838-4516

Phil is a building contractor and runs Hiline Builders Inc. ( hilinebuilders.com )

Phil found out about the Davis Family's plight in the Bee.

( http://www.sacbee.com/101/story/909902.html ) and decided that he wanted to make a difference.  Phil will be sharing the leadership responsibilities with James Bufford, another experienced contractor who has worked on many projects with Rebuilding Together volunteers. James represents State of BEing, a not-for-profit organization, doing great things for the disadvantaged in the city.

We believe that the experience, oversight capabilities, insurance umbrella and the vast array of suppliers, contractors and volunteers that Rebuilding Together has will greatly impact the success of this project. The project is expected to take up to 6 months to complete.

Bayside is now the main sponsor of this project and is encouraging skilled and unskilled volunteers to get involved.

We had our first workday on Saturday, July 26.  The bee covered the event:
